BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING

The Hollywood Commission created a one-of-a-kind Bystander Intervention training for Hollywood. Bystander intervention focuses on providing accessible strategies and skills to address unwelcome behavior. Using data from the Hollywood Survey and targeted focus groups, every scenario explored is rooted in a real-world experience. Participants engage in open discussion with one another and the trainers through chat and breakout rooms. Our process asks participants to examine the dynamics and possible interventions in real world entertainment scenarios. The training is focused on bystander experiences and does not require divulging personal experiences.

Our interactive and engaging workshops are available for production offices, gaming companies, and productions of all sizes.

Why Bystander Intervention?

  • 91% of the 2019 Hollywood Survey respondents thought Bystander Intervention would be a helpful resource for the entertainment industry.

  • Survey respondents reported that 69% of the time unwanted behaviors occurred one or more bystanders were present.

  • Most people identify as a bystander and want to help but are unsure what to do.

Participants Will:
